* No "e" after the "g", eh. Glad we've got that cleared up.
The best of it certainly is. And that makes sense, I suppose, because Spain produces four times more every year than either Italy or Greece, hence why the countryside in the southern third of the country looks like this:

The top of my timeline *right this very instant* includes this, "news" that I doubt even heavily politicised New Yorkers can bring themselves to give much of a shit about.

Contrary to popular belief because of the battle, Cape Trafalgar isn't wild and rocky at all. It barely even qualifies as a cape; it's just a little promontory with golden beaches on either side of it and gently rolling lowlands behind it. It's usually warm and sunny in October (22ºC right now).

Interesting casting concept: Give the job of playing Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic to a guy who once came fourth in a Barry Manilow lookalike contest.

Pre-Germany, definitely. Here's the 1st edition of Beethoven's "Fidelio" (1805). Fraktur was still in common use for street signs in German towns until relatively recently. I assume the neo-Nazis now drool over it because it was the house font of the rabidly antisemitic rag Der Stürmer in the '30s.

Suspended compounds - AKA "hung-over hyphens" - are ugly at the best of times. While barely acceptable when it's the second element that's repeated (as in "short- and long-term plans"), they're an arch, "look at me!" embarrassment when applied to the first, as here. #SaveOurSubs
