Trap, geld, release.
Expensive, but humane and effective in the long run.

...especially as there are well-funded and highly-motivated oligarchs actively TRYING to make it happen here.

In some instances sure.
But some political staffers avoid being the ones to tell their political masters bad news.
When you look at the Coalition's last election results, it's hard to believe they were aware of widespread SM rejection of their policies.
Perhaps they were in a comfy echo chamber.

Well spotted. I'm sure you're right.

Perhaps we need to build a wall around the shire that gave us both Race Riots AND Australia's worst-ever PM. 😉

That whole "send workers back to the office" policy didn't seem to work out so well for them last election.
Musst have a sshort memory.

Canberrans will be able to polish Barnaby Joyce's legacy ... every time they walk past it in the street.

A nice "little" income supplement for a sitting Minister...?
The role is considered a senior position, so the salary would be commensurate with similar ambassadorial or special envoy appointments within DFAT, which are often on a scale similar to senior public servants. #AusPol

The data politicians really care about is poll data.
So, to get action on the underlying issues like these, we the people need to vocally express our concerns to the point where politicians believe their negligence might lead to their electoral loss.

$2...?! What a ripoff!

Not so!
One Nation has better grog and comfier seats to sleep it off in.

But Australia already has a Charter of Passenger Rights...?

More of a "classist act", I think.
Such as when he directed journalists to describe a train outage as a "union strike" - even after they informed him it was actually due to an "employer lockout".
Just one of his many forelock tugs to then Nine Media Chair and Liberal Party elder, Peter Costello.

I reckon Albanese has one foot out the door, and won't contest the next federal election.
So he'll go on blithely leading and reforming as little as possible on behalf of Labor's corporate sponsors, until he steps down.

Is the Nation that Babet's going to join the United States?
Because he spends more time sucking up to Trump than he does representing Australia.

Shields' serial sycophancy to the Liberal Party was a disgrace to the masthead.
(Remember how he deliberately mislead readers about the NSW train shutdown, in service to his LNP masters?)

Exactly!
And tho they might be seen to argue against it, I'm pretty sure the sharks (ie big tech) are secretly DELIGHTED with Australia's plan.
They can APPEAR to address concerns, while merely adding a couple of lines of code to block accounts.
(Their existing algorithms already know our ages.)
