A collection of interesting facts with a personality precariously perched on top. They/them.
I forget the source, but when I was studying Latin I heard that there's a Latin equivalent along the lines of 'As similar as milk is to milk'.

The number of registered owners is increasing, but the number of firearms is decreasing so...not sure how to feel...?

Looked up my suburb (in the not-quite-inner west of Sydney) and kinda wishing I hadn't 😬

Who the fuck is this psycho!?

Funnily enough I learned to type on a typwriter - one of the only useful things I got from having a vision support teacher is that they pushed me to learn to touch type when I was 7 or 8, on an electric typewriter with a dinky little LCD display.

Especially when it might have previously held valuable info about the contents of the tapes 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh, I am coming across so much of the gross old fax paper at work at the moment. Opening up tape boxes to find a big wad of essentially blank paper that feels disgusting to touch is not my favourite 😬

Yeah I would be curious to hear about any alternatives to Firefox 👀

I never used a fax machine until I was an adult working in retail in the early 2000s.

Capitalising Brown Snake for the non-Aussies who don't understand that that isn't just descriptive, it's the real common name for Pseudonaja textilis, a very common and infamously deadly Australian snake.

Oh, also, going back much further - me and my little friends playing near their rural property, snooping in the little chest of drawers their neighbours used as a mailbox, opened one of the bottom drawers only to find a Brown Snake napping in it. We didn't know much, but we knew it was time to leave

That's the first one that came to mind, but I could have picked one of a dozen others - the time a cockatoo snuck up & bit my ankle in a public park, the time a monkey stole a bag of nuts out of my hand in Kathmandu, the time I had to shoo a possum out of the middle of Liverpool St at midnight...

Yeah, listening to a brachycephalic cat or dog try to breathe is so upsetting.

My friend who's a vet had a purebred Birman born with only one eye, who struggled to breathe and a Frenchie with multiple skin, respiratory and spinal issues, both of whom were dumped breeder 'waste products'. Those two were lucky someone cared enough to adopt them.
