Home during the day means either dim sum or Blue & White Carry-out. Not sure if fried chicken or beans are on offer this holiday so I steamed all of these XLB for me!

Each sausage and beef meatball is smaller than my fingertip, and wasn’t that fussy as hell to do. I also subbed baby bok choy for the kale and added a bag of frozen spinach. Not homemade stock but it does taste pretty good! Parmesan rinds for the win!

I might be imagining it but these November volunteer tomatoes seem especially sweet! Whenever I encountered a blossom end rot tomatoes from one of my containers I’d chuck it into the far end flower beds. No stakes, no fertilizer. Possible bumblebee and honeycomb varieties!

Not even a dentist visit could dim my joy today. Since I have to stick to soft foods, I made some undergrad comfort food - box Mac and cheese with peas and tuna. High protein low carb if you can believe it!

#birds lazy birdwatching from my office was surprisingly varied today! Fighting Blue Jays, Pileated Woodpeckers, a northern flicker (thanks Merlin!) and robins, and a couple of LBBs. Video attempt of the woodpecker!
