Had a weird one tonight, but a good lesson I should try to remember. #LongHaulLife

I've been trucking for almost a decade now, and I've had a handful of interesting, idiotic, insightful, hilarious and just plain unnecessary conversations on the CB. It's helped me avoid major backups, and got me out of some trouble once or twice. Tonight it almost got me in some real trouble, of my own making admittedly. Been running up US 29 and I-64 from North Carolina to Virginia and I seem to get every idiot with misaligned headlights, or just forgetting to turn off their high beams. Normally I'm pretty patient about these kinds of things and I'll flash my markers and headlights on and off a few times and people usually get the message. If it gets really bad I'll generally start slowing down some people will pass me, and in worst case scenarios I'll either hit the shoulder and stop completely, or grab the left lane and let them pass me on the right. Tonight I've just been having bad luck, and in a moment that I'm not super proud of I grabbed my microphone and basically yelled into the dark about "Can no one in the f-ing state install a headlight?!" And some other such nonsense. Well the truck behind me that was just running super bright fog lamps took offence to that, started flashing his high beams and we got into a bit of a pissing match on the road and over the ol' CB. I insulted him, his truck, his skill, gave him the finger as he passed me just before we hit I-81... I was in a rage. He fed it back to me just as harsh, calling me names and telling me that he only just got his truck back after 2 weeks and didn't realize the lights were out. We kept going back and forth, exit numbers and an invitation to a fist fight came up at one point and after a little bit until he gave me trouble for brake checking him. Now I don't normally break check people, but I guess it must have seen that that's what I was doing as I was hitting the shoulder to get him to pass me. Had to go rescue a load when one of my co-workers stopped working. Essentially we're drawing into my trailer's pump, and using that suction to offload.
He was lucky that I was in the area.

Still can't get over the tiny lil knife my boyfriend, @starlightserpent.bsky.social gave me. It's way sharper than you would expect.
