Ok but that's not what happened. The power is still there. It didn't disappear and this is almost certainly going to be challenged in federal court, as the article acknowledges.

I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about if the Earth is flat. I *really* think libertarians need to put some considerations into haruspicy. Communists *really* need to start considering Bigfoot.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

I heartily applaud this effort. Giving the most out of touch people you know money to reach out to people they are fundamentally not interested in serving is almost certainly a waste. That makes it one of the few ethical uses of money from big donors.

I don't think this is true. The audio is all over TikTok. Like a lot of other TikTok audios, the original context has been completely stripped away through repeated use and reference. Many people view the penguin as trying to do something impossible or difficult rather than embracing certain doom.
