People are being forced out of DC. The cost of living is too high, and Trump is waging an all-out assault on the District.

It should be easier and more affordable to build a life here.

That's why I’m running for DC Council in Ward 1.

Horrified by this.

Violence in any form is absolutely unacceptable, and I'm keeping these two service members and their families in my thoughts.

Trump's political theater makes us all less safe. I hope that all National Guard members in DC are able to return home to their families soon.

“When shootings involving MPD officers happen, there are laws and regulations requiring that specific information be shared. The two recent shootings, though, show the significant gap in transparency that exists when federal agents pull the trigger.”

This morning, we delivered groceries to seniors in Columbia Heights ahead of Thanksgiving.

Senior hunger was already such a huge issue, and food insecurity in DC has only gotten worse over the past couple months.

On Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor the lives stolen by violence and a system that fails trans people.

I will always stand with trans people in the fight for employment protections, health care, and the right to live freely.

May the memories of those lost move us to action.

Today is the day! Aparna’s officially 32 🦂🎂🥳, and there are just 11 days left to get us to our goal of raising $3,200 from DC donors.

Together we can live in a DC and a Ward 1 that works for all of us.

This past weekend we hung out at the weekly Children’s Music Hour in Mount Pleasant, held another canvass in Shaw & LeDroit Park, and stopped by Wangari Garden’s Fall Festival! 🎶🚪🍂

We’re fighting for a world where we have basic needs, but also one that’s full of joy.

We've gotten $500 from DC donors today!

Can you pitch in (or ask a friend) to help us get to $750 by the end of the day and $3,200 by the end of the month?

Help us raise $3,200 for Aparna’s 32nd!

We need your support to fight for a Ward 1 and a DC that works for all of us. Together, we can cap rents, fund free childcare, raise wages, improve schools, and fight for a free DC.

As a tenant organizer, I’ve stood with tenants whose buildings desperately need investment. Losing $35M in federal funds because of DC’s negligence is outrageous – that money could have changed lives.

AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"

Honored to join @afroamcivilwar.org.web.brid.gy this #VeteransDay morning to read the names of Black soldiers who fought for liberation.

We honor all veterans and their legacy as we continue to organize for a country where housing, healthcare, and safety are rights – not privileges.

Health care costs will skyrocket, people will lose coverage, and the transfer of wealth from the poor to the ultrarich will continue.

DC has faced the brunt of the shutdown, but federal workers are still resolute in calling on Dems to hold the line. Where is our fight?

Our first 1,000+ door day of the campaign! 🚪🍂

Thank you to everyone who came out to canvass in Columbia Heights! We will win a DC and a Ward 1 that works for the people, not for billionaires or developers.

Door by door. Voter by voter.

When starving children as extortion to give rich people more money is your *best* idea, you shouldn’t have any power to affect other people anymore.

So many great conversations and so much fun at our childcare & coffee meetup! 🌈🍂🫧

The average cost of childcare in DC is $22,000 / year per child. If we want to keep families in DC, we need free childcare for every family and better pay for childcare workers.

Across the country (and in NYC), working class champions are proving that it’s not just possible, but that it’s necessary to fight for people over profit.

Now let’s bring that fight to DC:
