Madonna preferred to use her wings to fly a few inches over to where she wanted to be. She would flap her wings so hard (we called this her turbo mode) and boost herself in the direction she wanted to go 😂

In the beginning, Madonna could hop along on one foot, but as she grew, it became more difficult for her. My partner at the time helped me make a sling for her so she could strengthen her leg.

Madonna was the brightest light in my life from March to September 2023. Madonna was determined & fierce. She knew what she wanted & what she wanted was armpit cuddles (most of the time). She would trill the happiest trills when cuddling with me & also nibble on my arm. She chose me as her flock.

Madonna was born with a backward leg that gave her a lot of trouble in life, and ultimately led to her passing as she was not able to develop properly. Someone local to me had posted in a chicken group and asked if anyone would take a disabled chick since she was being picked on by the other chicks.

Mother & daughter are playing nice on the top roost tonight?!?! Clem was sitting in between them when I went to bring him inside & I thought he might be playing referee. When I picked him up, Macy scooted over next to her daughter midge & then just sat down ready for sleep 😍 🥹
