I'm autistic and my special interest is dark political shit. This is my time to shine before I combust. 🔥
But of course, the EBU did nothing to address the bedrock of everyone's concerns. 🙄

*record scratch* You're probably wondering how I got here...

Yes, the same democrats in the photo I was replying to used id politics in a tokenistic way. Consequently, they don't give a shit about Palestine. I'm not against id politics; I'm against how Dems have been using the veneer id politics in a way that allows them to do nothing.

I'm so sorry that you interpret "I wish I could read the actual article" as antisemitic. 🤷🏻‍♀️
November 15, 2025 at 6:30 AM
No, because of the paywall, which I complained about in the post you're replying to.

I get that journalists need to be paid, but saying "Academic is an anti-Semite!" without better clarification is trash. Like was she giving a lecture on The Merchant of Venice or...?

All platforms' capacity to share meaningful art has a shelf life, so I'm enjoying TikTok while it lasts.

To give Pete credit, he does try to clarify this: "There were expressions in the Democratic Party that suggested all that matters to where you fit now is based on your identity, and therefore, the only things we can do for you have to do with your identity...” ie no economic justice, only tokens.

The id politics debate is often a false dichotomy. When people rail against 'identity politics', they're actually complaining about this picture: Dems substituting empty gestures for meaningful policy. But people who debate id politics often don't clarify their terms...

Up to the *shutdown.
November 9, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I wish there was a shutdown timeline that included the events leading up to the timeline. I try to follow, but I always feel like I'm only touching one part of the elephant.

The shit has hit the fan.

I'd pour one out for him, but it would have to be over a towel. And the towel would have to be over someone's face. So I'd rather not.

It's giving 'newspapers printing photos of the My Lai massacre are making people hate America'.

I get the sense that activist content spreads well on TikTok until someone *successfully* persuades BD otherwise. There was tonnes on the gen-z protests in Indonesia for a while. Then (as said activists predicted) it suddenly stopped, like someone pulled a plug.

When I was in school, there was a small group of students in chorus who would go to competitions. Auditions weren't judged by the teacher, but by the students, because the teacher DGAF. If my choir teacher was still alive, maybe he'd use ChatGPT instead.
