Apologies for the annoying LinkedIn style post (complete with LI link), but I am rather unexpectedly back on the job market; hoping to find something when I head to OnDAM in Paris this week, but if you need a DAM, data governance or content expert in Ireland, HMU!

Mum has finally slipped away after being on the brink for the last ten days or so.

I was with her earlier. She was comfortable and peaceful.

There aren’t many outlets that post such regular content dedicated to cider. And though we only publish once a week this year (last year was a blistering twice a week), I’m proud of the coverage we give. We don’t get mentioned much on socials or beer sites, but if you like this kind of content… 🙂

Physically I’m at home, feeling drained, watching Knives Out, eating oven pizza and drinking supermarket red.

Spiritually though, spiritually, I’m sat at the bar at Happiness Forgets sinking too many of Benedetta’s martinis.

Hello friends. Not sure how much I want to get into this so turning replies off. But I do want to share some of what I’ve been going through.

Been sat at Mum’s deathbed for a week now and it is both brutal and exhausting.

Also boring, if I’m totally honest.

She’s somehow still going.

The music and general entertainment care homes seems to be about a generation out of date.

These people were not fighting the Second World War. Their parents were.

We’ll fucking Meet Again?

Where’s the Marianne Faithful, Rolling Stones etc?

When I bought this typewriter a few years ago it felt like a nostalgic indulgence. I used to play with my dad's old one as a kid so it was good to have one again.

Now, with the way AI is going plus the general creeping dread of being online, it's starting to feel more like a wise investment.

Most people have no business buying a whisky cask.

Not least because there are dodgy fucks out there more than happy to sell you one that may or may not exist.
It's brilliant to see The Scotsman taking whisky cask investment scams seriously.

You'll see my op-ed on page 8 from yesterday's paper covering why the whisky industry needs to take on this problem sooner rather than later!
