Should we skip ENT "Breaking the Ice" as well?

Eh, it was the 90s. Past Burton's two runs 1930s super heroes tried so hard to come back. See also The Phantom.

But you need to show some respect there. That score is by Jerry Fucking Goldsmith and it's the only good thing to come out of this film.

CRUSHER: If what we're saying is true, those trailers I saw were just concept art?
LAFORGE: It's the same thing with the phase shift in my visor. Hollywood trying again and again to make it happen.

Oh this needs the full scene treatment:
RIKER: You mean we could have come into this room, sat at this table and been told a new Star Trek film is coming?
LAFORGE: A dozen, a hundred, it's impossible to tell. We could hear tales of more Kelvinverse, or a Tarantino opus or some new thing entirely!

If the skant is gender neutral, so should be the crop top!

I've got that one! My favorite phaser from all of Trek. Mine sits proudly in my armory (along with a DL-44, my custom Bryar Blaster, 3 light sabers, a d'k tahg, Deckards gun and a PPG)

Oh no doubt. No equalness implied. Just a utter disappointment in both who taught me so much.

same. its just unfortunate what was learned about him later. That and Alton Brown's latent racism really soured me to two of my favorite cooking tv guys.

I've never seen him in anything where he doesn't play a colossal prick.
I hope in real life he is a really nice guy but in the world of scifi, he seems to be type cast as 'we need a smarmy douche, a real Ben Cotton type. Oh, we can get the real Ben Cotton? Perfect!'

It was on the original list but I felt some comedy needed to be represented. Plus with Mindfield you keep the romulans unknowns still and that leaves the reveal in BoT more punchy.

I can't love this enough.

Also, if one watches LD first and then an older Trek show and makes the connection, they can enjoy it in a different way. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

Aslo: I am dead set against ANY and ALL gatekeeping. Why are you choosing this hill to die on?

yet there are still plenty of jokes all across LD that dont need a single ounce of reference. Also, LD tells plenty of their own stories that need no connection to previous Trek.
