I'd always thought they did cryptic crosswords before the sudoku stuff blew up and they pivoted to mostly being a sudoku channel, but maybe not?

I fondly remember Journeyman Project 3's AI companion having two separate sliders in the options for "joky quips" and "puzzle hints."

(Against the Storm was the turning point for me where I liked it enough to play in EA, but not enough to go back to it in 1.0, so I missed out on the full campaign stuff they added later.)

For me at least my EA hesitance comes from the other side: even in the best-case scenario where the game is good and gets completed, I'd rather play the complete good game than the incomplete good game. (and both is extremely unlikely) Maybe I'm not the target audience for EA.

The streamer I follow who does a bunch of tedious challenge runs (including Pokemon) ties them to randomizer mods, so even if you're grinding for a long time for an unlikely success you don't know what that success will look like. That probably gets it into type 2?
