In my experience it was that you don't really know where to start, there are so many different things that you need to know
I was lucky enough that my company paid for an online course from the a11y collective which gave me a great starting point and a good basic understanding

I hope you are going to enjoy knitting! If you have to buy needles and can't borrow them from someone, would suggest getting thicker bamboo or wooden ones and thicker yarn. The strain on your hands will not be as bad and the bamboo offers a bit more friction, which prevents dropping your stitches

Don't worry about it, I'm also pretty sure unless you are a knitter you probably wouldn't even notice it ^^

Looks great! Have you thought about changing the bottom texture of the knit cloth to purl stitches? Knit fabric can only have on one side the signature v shapes.
