“The idea that federal officials would seize ballots in an attempt to prove fraud is especially dangerous in this context when we know … the Georgia 2020 election has been extensively counted, recounted and investigated,” one expert said.

Sanctuary Law: local LE will not waste their time (tax money) reporting anyone pulled over for a broken tail light, do the paperwork, wait for ICE to arrive to take custody.
Local LE depends on the trust/ cooperation of their communities to enforce order. Break the trust = both LE/citizens get hurt.

In a massive win for Oregonians’ and Californians’ privacy, two federal courts dismissed the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking access to both states’ unredacted voter registration records.

The judges agreed that states are not obligated to share such data with the government.

Like the E-files, they are trying to sweep this issue under the carpet. Don’t let them!
ProPublica has found multiple cases of women with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.

Tierra Walker, a 37-year-old mother, was told by doctors there was no emergency before preeclampsia killed her.

This has always been the way it works. However, now the administration could change the rules to delay and invalidate your ballot.

Two fixes:
1. Mark and return your ballot the day it arrives.

2. Don’t MAIL your voted ballot. Take it to a Dropbox, or Post Office (and have them postmark it then).
The service has updated its mailing standards to clarify exactly how postmarks work and when mail is stamped.

I used to be a proud Texas Aggie. Now not so much :(
Texas Universities are now like police departments who would prefer to pay out the inevitable lawsuits rather than stop breaking the law
Texas A&M University will not reinstate a lecturer who was fired after a video of her teaching about gender identity in a children’s literature class went viral, despite a faculty appeals panel unanimously concluding that her dismissal was not justified.

If you don’t understand how something works, you can apparently be easily manipulated to vote against it.

Unfortunate that deployed servicemen or others overseas might not be able to vote now.

I once heard a comedian on the radio who said:
If we don't take care of our veterans, we fail every which way we can fail."
That quote stayed with me for some reason ...
"The Trump Administration plans to abruptly eliminate as many as 35,000 health care positions at the Dept of Veterans Affairs this month...

"The cuts come after a reorganization effort already resulted in the loss of almost 30,000 V.A. employees this year..."

But wait a minute now. Didn't the Supreme Court say President Dementia is indeed above the law.
I wonder if after he croaks he won't be "above" much of anything.
“It is proper, constitutional, and legal for a federal grand jury to indict a sitting president for serious criminal acts that are... contrary to, the president’s official duties. In this country, no one... is above the law.”

Talking about a “DMZ with Russia”? Sure. Here’s how it should look.

If anyone insists on a “demilitarized zone” between Ukraine and Russia, let’s be clear where it belongs.
Not inside Ukraine.
Not on Ukrainian land.

A real DMZ starts inside Russia — far enough to stop missiles, drones, 👇
