Loving Reykjavik so far, although waking up to 9pm darkness at 8am is proving to be a bit rough 😅

I was not aware until this morning just how chatty starlings are.

Love the fact that my experiences in Vancouver and Berlin, specifically during the winter, have fully prepared me for Iceland. Lüften and layers are already engaged, coffee+cake time will follow shortly.

Just got to Iceland and let me tell you, that “31° feels like 18°” air HITS after being in a plane for 8+ hours. That is some crisp and refreshing air ❄️

Shout out to the handful of us wearing masks on this flight!

I know for a fact that half my suitcase is just going to be full of food products when I come back from Iceland next week. That and a plushy Midgard serpent because obviously I need that.

A substorm seems to be occuring!! Head outside and take a look north if you have clear skies to maybe catch a glimpse of the aurora. Phone cameras will see more than your eyes, so take a test shot while you're out.

If you have a very low-latitude aurora observation from tonight, please record your exact time and rough location and DO NOT DELETE your photo. These observations will be important for scientific research of this event.

Comment below if you have a low-latitude aurora sighting.

People in northern places! Go outside! There's a huge solar storm and the auroras are popping!

Everybody on TikTok is still VERY into Tutankhamun topics but I need to switch gears and get Viking info into my brain for my trip next week!

Hilarity at the fact that I’m buying additional winter base layers for Iceland while it’s 80°F and sunny.

Exercised my free will and caught a matinee of Frankenstein! A treat for the eyes and I’m so happy we finally have a good Frankenstein adaptation.

Starting Monday with 4 utility crews all working/drilling/chainsawing directly outside, and setting off car alarms while they do it, while also blasting Divorced Dad hits. I'd love to leave and go work somewhere quiet but I quite literally can't get my car out of the driveway 🙃

Nov. 2 and stores are already playing Christmas music. Calm. The fuck. Down.

We can hear the fireworks all the way up here. It sounds like a thunderstorm 😂

This game is still going???

Proud of myself for going out *by* myself tonight! Much fun and a few impulse decisions have been made so far.

Me: I've got a lot to do today so I'm going to use the morning to take care of all my regular work so I have plenty of time for everything else! I just need a chunk of time to focus.

The utility crew outside jackhammering rocks and blasting Divorced Dad rock: LOL.

Extremely helpful that one evening of dancing allows me to hit my cardio goals for 2 days. This is the kind of efficiency I can get behind. The late hours, not so much.
