An armchair of uncertain provenance, and a teddy bear that - as legend has it - featured as "Aloysius" in the 1981 TV serial Brideshead Revisited (I am not sure this is true).
The fabric of both objects is unknown.

This hat was probably convenient to grow all kinds of flowers on it.

Happy memories of a Jane Austen ball in 2017 in Ansbach.
#ChandelierSunday
The setting will be more like a rural assembly room next Saturday night, but I bet the ball will be as much fun. It's the dancing that makes me happy.

I haven't been to a ball since 2019. Rummaging through my boxes with accessories, I am delighted in finding one labeled: "fans, shoes, gloves, tiaras" (plurals!).

Which fan is best for this fir-green dress?

Preparing for next week's Jane Austen ball I stumbled upon this fascinating article:
A Selection of Balls from 1809 by Paul Cooper about five balls from 1809 along with seven tunes or dances that were enjoyed at them: www.regencydances.org/paper052.php

Celebrating Jane Austen's 250. birthday with a ball is getting considerably closer. The dance list arrived - time to do a little bit practice in advance.
"Northdown Waltz" is among the dances. Doesn't it look pretty:
