Wild that 28% of Tory voters don't believe humans are causing climate change.

The figure is quite high for UK population as a whole, at 17%.

Yet it's 4yrs since the IPCC upgraded its certainty on our role in causing climate change, calling it "unequivocal". Lotta people didn't get the message.

Only 11% of people think Brexit has been more of a success than a failure.

More Leave voters think it's gone badly than well.

I'm no expert on comms, but it seems to me as if Starmer's govt has a problem in getting out a message that ties these kinds of things together into a 'we're fixing things' narrative. Sure, much of the media is hostile, but that's always been the case for Labour govts.

In early 2020, a pandemic was spreading. The UK’s PM went on a 10 day half-term holiday during which he was uncontactable and the government went into panic mode, focusing, as Hancock related to the COVID enquiry, on buying enough body bags. 1/8

🚨 Global Temperature Report for 2024

2024 was the hottest year since instrumental measurements began.

3.3 billion people had their locally warmest year.

The warming rate appears to have increased, likely due to reductions in aerosol pollution & cloud cover.
