Took a neighborhood walk to clear my head. Had a much-needed quiet moment with this little creek. If you need 15 seconds of peace today, this is for you, my friend. 🫶🕊

When everything is chaotic and we are feeling frazzled, it is all the more important that we remember to slow down. I know it is hard. If it was easy, we would not need the reminder.

Here is a calming crane for your busy day, now available and on sale in my shop:

My husband & I were looking through old photos recently. In the before times, we enjoyed taking trips & the one we took to Fort Bragg, CA was one of our faves. I took these photos one night at the beach across from our hotel. Hope you enjoy these sunset pics. No editing; this is what it looked like.

Working on this simple little drawing today....

I do my best to live by the ethical principle of ahimsa (nonviolence, nonharming), despite its challenges. (If it was easy, it would not need to be a foundational principle of various Indian spiritual traditions, such as Buddhism.)

Wearing a respirator mask to avoid covid is ahimsa in action.

On the easel today. It's the first of a series of 4 crane pieces featuring the same pair of red-crowned cranes through the seasons.
Cranes mate for life, and in Japan, they are seen as bearers of good fortune. The seasons and micro seasons are extremely important and are celebrated and honored. ❤️

The sun is peaking out from the clouds, so I'm taking the opportunity to get out for a walk. I hope you are able to get outside today as well. Wishing you all health and peace in this messy, chaotic world. ❤️

Like my tote? It's my own drawing & it's available here:

Autumn in the PNW is not always vibrant reds and oranges, as gorgeous as those are. Oftentimes, it can be soft, muted earth tones like the ones I saw on my walk the other day. Just as beautiful, in my opinion. 🍂🤎💛

Greetings from the gloriously rainy PNW! ☔️

Do you know what today is? Today is an excellent day to wear a respirator mask. Do I really need to list the reasons why at this point? 🤷‍♀️😷
November 15, 2025 at 8:53 PM
I just can't even handle you today, autumn...🥲🍂

Welcome to my non-aesthetic, art non-studio. 🎨

I don't have a studio. I don't have a sleek work space.
I don't have every art tool I want.
I don't even have a computer.

But, I DO have ample supplies. I have supportive loved ones. I have time. I have my brain. What more is needed, really?

November walks in the PNW are so cleansing, especially when it's rainy. It's still fall, but you can feel winter coming.

To all the folks who are still wearing their respirator masks to avoid Covid, I'm with you. I wish the people who say they "know they probably should" wear a mask actually did.

"I didn't know what to get you."

Personally, I would LOVE receiving a plant as a gift, little Marcello. Anyone else?

🍂Shop sale! everything up to 50% off🍂

Happy Monday, all! In celebration of my favorite season, and inspired by the Japanese maples that I stop and admire on my daily neighborhood walks, I decided to paint this autumnal watercolor, which I just added to my shop. 🍁🫶

There is no lonelier a feeling than the world moving along as usual, as you are nativgating a personal crisis.

If you have experienced this in the past, or are currently in the throes of a difficult situation, please know there is at least one person who understands how surreal it feels.
