The blame isn’t being placed on the reporters… it’s being aimed at ownership/management who decide which beats are covered by which reporters and then ultimately decide which stories get front pages and which are delegated to the middle or the cutting room floor.

A lot of the time outside randos have a better view of what’s happening on the inside than those whose livelihoods depend on being naive about how power operates within their organization.
