Given the hall’s handball history, this looks like a halo to me
Well isn't that just the most delightfully perfect frame for Little Moreton Hall?

Can’t disagree - it’s a great track
'From its signature use of multiple chord changes, to the stirring use of brass underpinning its main melodic momentum that imbue it with a kind of English pastoral-tinged psychedelia, this is a classic Cardiacs tune'

All sorts of awesomeness here. What a band. What a tune. Massively looking forward to the new album

10. Tarred and Feathered - Cardiacs (from "Big Ship", 1987; and "Songs for Ships and Irons", 1991)

An excellent recording, though you haven't truly experienced this song until you've seen it live and watched a mosh pit jump up and down perfectly in sync with the intro.

Maybe it’s just me, but rather than telling us about love in the modern age, won’t looking at Valentines cards just tell us what card makers think will sell?

I wonder if we can persuade them to come over here and fix the millions of potholes in Britain’s roads?
Last month, beavers built several dams almost overnight in an area of the Czech Republic where the local authorities had been discussing a dam project for seven years. Having done so ‘without any project documentation and for free’, the beavers saved them about £1 million.

Gotta love a map that lets you search for Fives and Handball locations
In a couple of weeks I'll be starting phase 3 of our Sports Archive, documenting every known sports ground in Northumberland. Football, rugby, quoits, fives - everything!

If there's any obscure grounds you want to share for me to add, give me a shout at northeastheritagelibrary.co.uk/contact

That’s pretty scary
'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' by Wham was released nearer to the end of the Second World War than to today. Happy New Year everyone!

Any Wildhearts fans out there? Saw them in Guildford last night - and they were top form. Great to see/hear Ginger in such fine voice - and good spirits

I hate it when ministers resign with no regard for our magazine’s production schedule. I now need to tweak lots of passed pages for our first Xmas double issue to refer to the *former* Transport Secretary…
