It could be possible to make a cassette player that fits inside of the tape itself (i.e. a self playing tape), though the R/W head would end up on the other side of the tape. It wouldn't be compatible with a regular player, but might make an interesting novelty item. Motors would go in the holes.

She was a wretched, ugly looking homeless person, but oh wow did she clean up nicely - 10/10!
For women:
The dark stranger rudely threw a fat wad of cash in my face and mysteriously disappeared after I insulted him. I hate him! Ah, I can't stop thinking about him.

While waiting for my package I started looking for a space to see if I could fit a model railway anywhere. Technically I could fit it on my office desk. It's all about choosing the right curve radii. I would need to build a platform up for terrain and lake/mining pit. Stole stencil from product img

Seems like there's (deliberately?) no way to block youtube channels. There are so many fake generated "documentaries". I just occasionally report them for spam/misleading instead.

I wonder how model railway tracks deal with cant/tilt transitions, cuz canted curves are sold. Maybe just twisting the incoming/outgoing track piece?
It appears trains can lean using mechanical solutions, naturally from the conical wheels sliding sideways, and by canted rail (in high speed curves).

American steam trains and the old streamliners are quite nice, but the modern trains in service are such dull-nosed sausages. It's like the train body designers just all quit 80 years ago, leaving the engineers to do some rudimentary solution.

Found a baggie with what might be a LEGO mixels set--not sure which. Built a Dragonfly MOC from it.

Hum. I was deciphering some labels on a switch*:
明 = light, dawn
暗 = dark
...probably for controlling backlights. But what are those components?
日 = sun, day
月 = moon
立 = stand
Huh. So what's the logic here?
Moon is bright, Sun placed under stand?

Alright, so linkedin, which I haven't used since 2002, adopted some AI training policy. Rather than deleting my forgotten profile, I took this opportunity to point out that I'm currently imprisoned deep under Fort Boyard and wear a cool iron mask and refused a pardon by Pope Francis a while back.

Every time I order something from Japan shipping is estimated to be weeks, then I track the package and it actually goes from Tokyo to Stockholm customs in two days (how???) and my suspicious plastic crack has to sit there for a week or two.

Random thought: I wonder if female swimmers wear a one-piece suit to reduce drag (rather than a two-piece). Given how important fluid dynamics ought to be, I bet someone has calculated underboob vortices or something.
If it just had to do with skin drag, then male swimmers would wear one too?

This is a portion/serving of chips according to the print on the bag. It's about two palms worth I'd say. You wouldn't think of reaching into the bag to snatch a few extra... would you?

Why use two diodes and a resistor for polarity detection when you can use 13 components instead?
I just wanted to see if I could get constant-ish brightness from variable voltage, so I used a 1N5819 -> L78L33 regulator, and two BC548 to drive the LEDs, detecting via 300K resistors to base. Stoopid?

Hands up! Give me all the money you've!
Robbing me? Who T. F. do you think you're?!
Someone who will shoot you if you try and walk away, that is who I'm!

This I think is the most interesting reverse loop. Unless I'm mistaken in my beginner notions, it's good enough to just park in the middle section and then flip both access points into it using a DPDT. One just has to make sure the switch is in the right entry mode or the train will hit a reverse.

Huh. Looks like the models are quite close to the "prototypes" (originals). This guy must've done some relabeling though.

Uh, so I found some hidden spare dough on my tax returns account and decided that I actually really did need some comfort after the dentist debacle actually. 200euro plus 60 ship. The TOMIX 91036 railyard (barely visible here) seemed like a good set for scale scenery w/ many track point & end bits.

I had some trouble with my site being down for a week, but this time it was just my local DNS somehow refusing it. Grrr. DNS = a server which knows where (not quite) all URLs lead, I guess. Solved it by adding some fallback DNSes in my network settings (linux mint).

Hmm... When powering a model railroad there's a drop over rail distance and the trains will run slower. So you split the cable up and power the rails at like four points. Those rails don't need to be connected as long as they have power afaik, so it's possible to make something like tiles?

Alright, here's an iteration on the railroad layout.
The side track now meets up with the stripmine swirl, which flows better. The two sidetracks go in opposite directions. Didn't want to overload this area.
Car dump (in the forest) at middle.
More options at chem plant, allowing train flip.

I thought it would be fun to plan a model railroad layout, even though I can't build it for budget, time and space reasons.
New locomotives and wagons are in the 50-150-500 euro range, but more affordable second hand. It's probably a bit like the 40K market: stuff bought, barely used, then sold.

Made a "blink sketch" (can blink e.g. twice a day) that uses the WatchDog Timer and Sleep mode. The difference in power consumption is that of a week vs 10 years (1:500) on an ideal battery, and that's with my board which is already low power (I can isolate the power light, USB/FTDI & Regul). 26.5uA
