My kids’ school district did 3 hour early release once a month for teacher development. The superintendent now says that because test scores were up this year the program was a success.

Also, to improve upon this success the dates will be moved from Mondays to Wednesdays.

The day after my first was born I was sitting and holding him and said to my wife,

“He’s already so big, it feels like he was born just yesterday.”

And that’s how you almost die by telling a dad joke.

Family game of monopoly, I was winning. Landed on my son, lot of 1$. Not enough to wipe me out but enough to extend the game.

My offer: I’ll give you everything and you win. In exchange you clean up the board without making a huge fuss, and we can play something else.

Pareto improvement.

My book came out one year ago.

It was the most fun I’ve had writing professionally.

Thank you so much to everyone that has read it or used it.

Knowing that people are enjoying it makes me so incredibly happy.

Dad jokes are a pedagogical tool.

Consider the simplest DiD setup with panel data. T = 2, controls X(i) don't change over time. D(i) is the "ever treated" indicator, f2(t) the second period time dummy. W(i,t) the time-varying treatment W(i,t) = D(i)*f2(t). The X(i) appear flexibly to allow selection and heterogeneous trends.
