@governorwalz.mn.gov Talk to Schumer in the Senate and get him and the rest of the Dems to show some damn spine. No funding for ICE and DHS. More than half of the country wants them abolished.

@cantwell.senate.gov The current "plan" that is going around from the Senate Dems is nowhere near enough RE: DHS funding. The plan is WORSE than what over half the country (including Republicans!) wants.

Defund ICE and DHS. They are broken beyond repair. Get your colleagues to do the same.

Think you have to retire the phrase “immigration crackdown” when every major violent spectacle — at least those the news is choosing to highlight — involve US citizens screaming “Check my ID!”
As the Trump administration escalates its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, arrests and aggressive tactics by ICE and the Border Patrol, many seen on viral videos, have intensified the frustration and fear among residents, business owners and immigrant workers. trib.al/zVm2mk5

You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

If I'm reading the text of both of these correctly..... They are terrible and shouldn't be passed by voters (if they come to a vote).
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Office of the Secretary of State notified the Legislature of the receipt of two initiatives: IL26-001 and IL26-638. Read the full news release here: https://bit.ly/451DsX0

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.
