I've been given a redundancy notice, so I'm super busy finishing up some projects for handover, while also knowing I won't be around for the next phase and it'll be someone else's problem, while it's also community group AGM season and I'm preparing for an overseas wedding straight after Christmas

I said private right of action specifically to emphasise that copyright law allows litigation to be initiated by a private party who isn't a government regulator, but yes, those parties are large media companies acting in their own commercial interests and wanting licensing deals

I say this extremely rarely: I hope they take inspiration from the British Government, who have somehow managed to make their AISI one of the few government initiatives in recent decades that actually has proper technical staff

I know these people well enough to know they're generally well cultured and can learn how to write a short email asking a basic request without using ChatGPT, and they can write a formal letter that begins with the conventional salutations, and yet somewhere along the way they never picked it up
