A young Fritz Wepper as well... Quite a "foundational" film for West German film culture...

What I found interesting was this bit: "...give way to a younger man...". Striking that even in 1981 women weren't even considered to be in the running for this job (despite Thatcher being PM for two year by that point).

I actually met a man who was pressed into the German army aged 14 in April 1945, who told me that half of his classmates were killed when they were meant to stop the American advance in Thuringia (more or less what film depicts). So "Die Brücke" probably quite close to the "reality" of war.

Maybe it's all just 4D chess by Labour to ensure @zackpolanski.bsky.social becomes the next Prime Minister... Who knows! 🤔

The list of terrible game movies is long, though... Lara Croft, Assassin's Creed, the dreadful Super Mario one with Bob Hoskins...

Only briefly played it on a Gameboy when my cousin stayed for the summer vacation. Never got properly into it. But game films are usually cringe, see the Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat movies.

What platform did you play it on? Gameboy or NES?

Nur aus (Nieschen-)Interesse, woher wissen wir denn, dass er der erste Musiker mit E-Gitarre in (West-)deutschland war?

P.S.: Gut und sehr wichtig an ihn zu erinnern!

Very reasonable and convincing points. I wonder whether anyone in No 10 will take note, though.
