still think it is super awesome how Windscribe allows me to download openvpn type files that I can use with the NetworkManager integration, not needing their app at all and being more integrated into my desktop.
very nice.

Drifter from @riskofraingame.bsky.social is one of the most interesting and unique game characters ever! If any of the monsters looks weird at me I just hit them with my purse!
Friend is too lazy to walk? Get in the purse n00b.
That Clay Templar getting too nosy? In the purse and off the map!

I can not express into words how absolutely amazing the FTL soundtrack is.
Hey I'm Ben!

I made the FTL soundtrack.

I've worked on 14 different games.

I've been making music for 26 years (I'm older than I look.)

I'm mostly self-taught.

I've got some room in my schedule so I'm looking for another soundtrack project!

Fedora 44 Will Be the First Distro to Adopt KDE's Plasma Login Manager
The move replaces SDDM but means giving up on custom login themes.

whenever I start powershell on windows it says "loading personal and system profiles took 3388ms" and I think it is crazy to take almost 4 seconds to get to your terminal.

did a few test installs today using archinstall while also thinking how this is probably going to take 5 minutes compared to the full hour when installing windows11 at work. It most certainly did NOT take 5 minutes.

What a coincidence! I did treat myself today by going to the coffeeshop. But there's a nuance!😁🥬🍀

docker compose 5.0 changed how it outputs stuff and broke the CLI just a bit, in my case the cursor was gone.
docker compose 5.0.1 brought back some of the old output and now doesn't even display my prompt, it just hanged.

guys please, it's been a tough few weeks in the docker space.

Yes there should be more statistics in Linux. No stuff like pkgstats are not invasive wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pkgstats and Yes all distros should have something like this installed by default.

I am thinking of trying to replace nginx proxy manager with github.com/lucasdillman.... No particular reason to be fair, just curious.

have to admit it has been a hot minute since I rewatched all my favourite stuff.
I also feel that I will never have the peace of mind from back then.

Continuing to think about FOSS projects that I like and make life easier. FZF is the core of many bash scripts and an absolutely amazing tool.
You can even make a "UI" for pacman with it!

this is amazing!
I have tried using pure are on a server and what broke it was an update where mkinitcpio or dkms failed to rebuild something after a kernel update.

there may be potential for some improvements there? maybe upstream arch can also benefit from these? future is exciting

Hope everyone has at least somewhat decent holidays!

I also recommend going to the nearest east-european oriented restaurant and asking for 🇷🇴 sarmale (cabbage rolls). It has been a tough year, you deserve this experience. has to be cabbage leafs, anything else might ruin the experience.

damn, the arch infra is down again, probably same type of attacks like last time. people doing this probably just need a friend or some shit.

one thing I noticed on KDE and 99% sure gnome is either the DE or the lockscreen make you wait after inputting a wrong password.

Unlocking is instant, if you mess something up, you have to wait. Maybe our lord and savior github.com/KDE/plasma-l... will uhhh.... save us from this.
pls be good

command I was using to reset winget can sometimes hang so the actual solution seems to be kill winget, reset winget, sleep 5 seconds, run any winget command with accept agreements and disable interactivity flags.

crazy.
all of this would've taken 10 minutes on linux.
resetting winget to refresh its internal db also causes the winget.exe to briefly disappear so if you have don't wait a bit after, your shit will break with "winget is not a command" and i dunno man like...

can we please start acting like a funny-number-money company pls?
managed to do it today. problem was winget was not properly updating its internal sqlite db file 🙂

today's conclusion is that winget (also) blows, or the devs, but i think it is both unfortunately.
ms has had complete monopoly over desktop PCs for the past 45 years but the second you want to automate any kind of software deployment, good luck.

just had to use the Google TV app to paste something into a field on my TV and it has been one of the most blood-boiling experience ever. I refuse to believe any of the google execs actually uses their own products.

Winget is fucking wild bro. The m$ store itself sucks ass cause it is a m$ product, then you have winget.run and winstall.app that appear to just index the ms store but then have conflicting data between them. Software management on Windows just blows.
