What a lovely piece:

“…I can only tell you about his voice: low and deep like a euphonium in a high-school band, sometimes speaking in italics, often pausing before answering questions…”

I’m very excited about this one!
COVER REVEAL! KILLING SPREE is a new collection from the Pulitzer Prize winner @joriegraham.bsky.social, whose “great body of work has so much in it—more of life and of the world than that of almost any other poet now writing” (@nytimes.com).

KILLING SPREE will be available on 5/26: bit.ly/4rjS2mh

When you’re adulty but you’re still a night owl/teen, you really need pals across the country so that you can start with the folks on the East Coast after dinner and then yack all night with your West Coast people. Hoes in different area codes, if you will.

My father always taught me to pick up nails, bolts, anything sharp—metal—that caught a flash of sunlight in the road, just as long as I could reach it safely.

Absolutely NOT harvest.

“Yr open mouth awaiting my harvest,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is now the Secretary of Health and Human Services, had written to my then-fiancé. “Drink from me Love.”

Ok I realize the foregoing post (it seems almost criminal given the subject matter to refer to it as a “skeet”🤦🏼‍♀️) may seem random without the link:

Fair to say RFK Junior is no poet and look I love a good sex-positive fellatio poem as much as the next guy so this isn’t me being a prude—this is an objection on purely grounds of CRAFT.

Do I think the Pope looks cool here? I do.

Do I think it would be cooler if he stood up for our trans brothers, sisters, and siblings and smacked around the American Bishops who voted to deny trans care in Catholic hospitals today? Yeah. I do. WAY fucking cooler.
What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

It's the Pope in 1982.

I would like to provide a forum here for anyone who went through a prepubescent Kliban cat phase in the early to mid-1980s. How is that late-in-life ADHD diagnosis working out for you?

I want to thank all the veterans who have served this country, but especially the transgender veterans who served and still desire to serve in spite of being treated like 2nd class citizens by the very country they defend. Thank you all for your service.

Incredibly exciting news!
I was thrilled to learn today that @uchicagopress.bsky.social is planning a new paperback edition of my first book, Rum Maniacs, to be published in the fall of 2026. So, I have two paperbacks coming out next fall!

This kid’s future wife or husband is going to have their work cut out for them🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here
