A more "Danish" scene it would be hard to imagine: the strong lateral light (typical there most of the year), the Royal Copenhagen porcelain. How he divided his composition almost equally so the walnut furniture surrounds the figures like an embrace, while opening the space above. Gorgeous.

No horizon line whatsoever... He managed to turn a landscape into a kind of tapestry, without sacrificing the human element 💕
