I very much enjoyed the sight of pretty much nobody holding up a phone at any stage during My Bloody Valentine’s rehearsal gig last night. But I did have to grab a shot of Kevin Shields’ selection of 22 guitars, visible from the wings when you went to the jacks

This landed by the back door and Teidí is terrified by it. There is also, presumably, a crying child a few miles away. Sad times all round.

You’re not wrong there, these appear to be floating torsos

I’m off to vote, in a desperate attempt to impress the dangerously woke youth

This is the top story on The Guardian today and had a prime time news slot on Irish radio earlier. Kids have always had irritating, meaningless things they say for fun. The real story is a generation of very online parents who don’t know what to do when they no longer understand a meme.

Ah I love rotties! Absolutely adore them. Tell Spike he’s the best boy. This is Teidí and his friend Jessie, he loves to steal her ball.

Thanks! He’s a looker, like his dad. I don’t mean me.

Very accurate and obvious statement by Catherine Connolly that will be mulled over and treated as commie loose cannon heresy by large sections of our commentariat

Extremely glad I stayed up to watch this, there might never be another finish to an elite marathon like this one. I grew up in Tanzania, incredibly happy for its beautiful people and for Simbu, who I’ve seen come close several times. Mungu ibariki Tanzania!

The increasingly hysterical Barney Ronay denigrating Andorra’s defensive style of football as ‘nihilism-ball’. Andorra has a total population of about 81,000 people. England has over 6,250,000 men who regularly play football.

Radiohead’s announcement of a new tour of 20 shows over only 5 major European cities really shows the new reality of live music at the highest end: wherever you play, just make sure it’s easy to find and has big airports and hotels. The fans will come to you, no matter how expensive or unecological.

The Times of Israel is running this picture beside an op-ed accusing everyone in Ireland of being antisemitic, again. Wonderful the way you can just imagine the most crass, racist pictures possible and make them reality in seconds. Love that for us

John Boyne’s title of Ireland’s Most Disingenuous Shitehawk is being robustly challenged by Alan Shatter, once again.
He is referring to t-shirts worn during pre-match warmups by both the men’s and women’s teams last weekend that commemorate Suleiman al-Obeid, murdered by the IDF at a food station.

15 years happily married today but we briefly hit a rocky patch earlier when my wife was disinclined towards my desire to Pollock up the cupboard doors we were repainting

Same vibes. This could lead me to a blood-spattered door with ‘My murder dunjun’ spray painted above it and I’d still figure it was worth taking my chances

Not saying my life has been lacking stimulation since thesis submission, but I actually let out a little squeak of excitement when I saw that the Utrecht tileset had come up today on NYT Tiles.
