Went for a coffee date with Jimmy after church, and my barista friends gave me ~20 spider plant cuttings. Lush green friends to keep me company in the cold winter!

I love marginalia b/c you can see what other people were excited about when they were reading the same book. Sometimes pretty funny.

staying with friends who have a cat and I now understand the "trapped by a cat sitting on you" posts

first time making chokecherry jam. The bushes in the backyard are going crazy this year so I didn't feel like I was competing with the birds too much.

needs some work on the stone-separation process but otherwise a great success!

There used to be a stretch along my walking route to the grocery store where there would often be evening mumurations, and one time there were so many I just decided, "nope, not today" and went home. (Part of it was just the threat of getting pooped on tho.)

@atlassian.bsky.social why do I have to click a button to see my sprint details with this UI update? there's plenty of whitespace here to tell me how many days are left!

I got to run my first 5k with an adoptable beagle on Saturday. T'was so much fun!

He's so sweet and needs a good home - I'd give him one but Jimmy is not a dog person and adopting a pet is one of those two-yes decisions so...

Anyway he was the best!

One of my new year's resolutions is to write at least 100 words per day on any subject to build a habit of consistent creativity. January wasn't perfect but I only missed three days and I'm inordinately pleased with how much I've enjoyed my project so far.

Haven't been to the beach in years and forgot how relaxing it is. Jimmy and I are drinking Cuban coffee and eating gelato and getting slightly sunburned. Good times.

First attempt at amigurumi and I'm really proud of how it turned out. Gift for a friend's newborn... It's as big as she is! 🧶

Today I got up super early and drove 40mi to town for a tree sale.

1. I'm turning into a midwesterner and planting windbreaks.
2. I'm turning into my mom. This is something my mom would do. (I sent her a picture of the sale list and she was super excited.)

Giant flocks of starlings always feel surreal to me (birds aren't real).

There's a shuddery sound and rhythm to the air they inhabit - a biomechanical frisson. Photograph doesn't fully capture.

Some blue(ish) skies for Bluesky. Captured these crazy clouds on a grocery store run.

(near Minot, ND)

I never knew the prairie could be so beautiful.
