It is within the realm of possible that it would have proceeded had Hitler been aborted. Hitler requires the Holocaust to make sense of, the Holocaust does not require Hitler to make sense of. I hope everyone doing this garbage is ashamed of themselves

anecdotally, somewhere else i've seen have fairly high adoption rates of astrology and meyers-briggs amongst young people is china, where youth unemployment is a big issue. once again, could that be a copout from the learned helplessness of a system they can't control (just like in the us)?

a similar correlation could probably be made between the rise in conspiracy theories (so many of them ending with some secret forces governing our world) and religion

while the material analysis of most of the horrors of our time is due to capitalism, i think that a lot of people are reluctant to take that as an answer/are looking for other copouts which leads to the rise of those beliefs

an idea that i've been meaning to explore and write about irt the rise of spiritual beliefs in our present ages is how much of it is due to harshening economic conditions. in those spiritual beliefs, i also include astrology, meyers-briggs, tarot, crystals, etc.
