Think so, good numbers of Teal & Black-tailed Godwits + other winter ducks and waders. Guess Canada Geese would be too big? loads of those too.

There's been 7+ roosting here for a few weeks but presumably spreading more widely

Aye, crazy numbers!

Thanks Thomas, don't think I've seen so many before 😮

No, Non Scottish students pay the same they would if studying in the rest of the UK (or more as I think some Scottish degrees are longer?)

For me in England it was nearly $50K student loan after 3 years. I commuted in 3rd year to reduce costs. Maintenance loan didn't cover much living costs

Aye, Andina - it's lovely and warm but I find it too warm much of the time at home (especially if combined with wool top) so mainly use Montane Torren. Was perfect for last Shetland trip when the windchill was crazy!

As others have said, the lack of mention of roads & cars is bizarre because using buses involves crossing roads, including uncontrolled crossings, with vehicles weighing 1+ tonnes.

They're better than any of the alternatives. Local to me we either have nothing or narrow pavements & shared paths made even narrower at every bus stop. Some pavements are so narrow 1 person fills it. And even worse than that is when the bus stop is on a road with no pavement.

I don't really get how social norms haven't shifted in that direction after the life-changing pandemic we all went through. It's not rude or insulting to try to avoid getting infected. It's sensible and protective of self and others.

Chimney sweeper & the burnet?

Old Lady & Chimney Sweeper? Guessing people have heard of the burnet

Interesting, there seem to be hundreds here! Not sure if it's 1 flock going between sites (another birder had c 600 nearby at Chilling today) or multiple big flocks

Ugh. Yes, you should've received an equivalent discount. It's an issue society needs to tackle.

Frustrating as it is, I think feedback is worth doing because it challenges assumptions like all visitors drive there.

Cheers Kev, aye appreciate detours needed especially for wildlife's sake. Guess the other issue is many areas just car sewers! Noticed on IOW locals tried to change suggested detour because of roads but s'pose Hants had little alternative choice 🤔

😍
Whoa, Both the cycle path & pavement look wider than almost every pavement & shared path I've seen! Meanwhile in England...

Incidentally, wouldn't recommend walking to Portsmouth via the English Coast Path. It's umm... more car sewer than scenic coastline, with little nicer sections around Fareham Creek to Cams Bay & Tipner Lake!
Another highlight was a Whinchat at IMB Lake, Cosham, and some really scenic parts of the English Coast Path... 😂 #HantsBirds
