Yep. Probably closer to N'awlins. It was a very interesting place to live, but I am SOOO not a southerner.

The year I lived in Louisiana, I still couldn't get over the "Hurricane Evacuation" and the "Alligator Crossing" signs. Even as we got to drive and weave gently through roads as the gators were on them sunning. Things like that make traveling awesome! #FreelanceFriends

God forbid folks travel in anything other than a f-150. I've gotten so much grief for taking the bus. Or even walking somewhere. One gal (a runner) chided me for walking 1.5m home after a meeting even though she'd ran 5m in the morning. Bus = shameful. Exercise = admirable. 🤪

::high five:: from a college history major here. Not even sure they have History programs anymore.

Chocolate covered taterchips are food of the Gods. Not sure which god - maybe all of them. I'm also a huge fan of the pretzels with the almond bark goo on them too.

We've not traveled much to the PNW. Seeing the big trees is getting high on our travel wishlist, so we'll be through there. I can't wait - we've heard so much about Portland - esp right now. #StayWeird

If they actually knew what Commie meant. "F*** socialism" stickers on cars as they drive on maintained streets, and receive their mail, and expect emergency services in a jiffy. And it's just greed and xenophobia and another side of greed.

We were looking at somewhere smaller between Boston and Providence near the train. Small town is more affordable, but can get to Boston/other places easily. I guess never say never, but so much has changed since 2019.

Sigh. Life like that is so attractive to me. It's one of the reasons I fell in love with Boston. Mass transit, mixed use neighborhoods, and the people-watching. And the architecture. We considered retiring to the east coast pre-COVID. Probably can't now. #FreelanceFriends

That I am. Farmers here raised on Fox news + Republican kool-aid. Owning the libs is as cherished as a football championship. Meat packer here just closed a plant (-3200 jobs) and they scream for help as hard as they vote red. It's maddening to watch and no real way to make change.

I envy your neighborhood. A post office and bank close by. That would be fantastic!!

^^^ Yep! They can threaten to though. We learned so much about how things worked. Seems sad though that folks have to work so hard at times when people are unwell. Like salt in the proverbial wound.

I've seen those too. Again can't remember the name, but glad they exist. Good to have so many options to do our best for our pet friends.

We were very lucky with hubby's surgery adventures. The insurance took care of much more than we expected. We still took a huge hit though and it'll be with us for a while yet.

Yep. Not hard to find the supplements to help out. We figure by the time we have to resort to that level of care, it's going to be all about making her happy and comfortable.

And don't get me started on all the "upgrades" that bloat and ruin the software.

I have literal nightmares about being homeless and such with everything that's going on. We live pretty light - we have a low threshold for "enough" but things are so messed up here. And truly for no good reason than a greedy minority.

Seems like it would be easier/cheaper to just cook the diet at home - like baby food for toddlers. We'd totally do that for her if need be.

I got flu/COVID from a grocery store Rx. It was right when they started clamping down, but got in with no trouble. If CVS can't, see if there's another place that will. Seems though that our Rx has opened things back up, thank heavens.
