Like you, I've heard people rave about Gemini Deep Research, but I have been loathe to try it based on just how terrible Google's AI summaries are.
Perplexity gave me this in under 20 seconds. I use it regularly for low-stakes things, but I'll keep doing the research all by myself.

I never claimed it was limited to the South, but having just left the University of Texas at Austin in January, I can assure you that it's far more predominate in the South. OH and IN are facing similar challenges to TX, FL, LA, OK, NC, TN, GA and other southern states.
