More than 1,300 people have been executed in #Iran in 2025 - the highest figure recorded in decades. Thousands more are at risk as Iranian authorities continue to weaponize the death penalty.

At @amnesty.org we call on the international community to take urgent action to stop this horror.

Happy Friday!

ICYMI, Spain approved a plan to grant legal status to thousands of migrants this week.

This smart, workable & humane initiative is a rare silver lining in today's toxic politics on migration.

Other EU member states should take note!
Valoramos positivamente que se haya aprobado hoy un Real Decreto que favorece la regularización de más de 500.000 personas migrantes. Esta medida facilita la inclusión e integración socio-laboral de personas que llevan tiempo en España en situación administrativa irregular.

Grateful to Juliana Miranda, from CELS for the UNGA 1C statement on Torture-Free Trade.

This is a human rights issue, and an export control trade issue - at the heart of it though is the prevention of torture - more action is needed from states to end the trade in tools of torture.
