I go back consistently to look for trends. Radiologists don’t always mention everything and some of us have too many Mets to make it easy so I also often ask for over reads when specific things aren’t noted consistently.

Such a great way to put it! I did a few decades as a trial attorney and had too many medical malpractice cases to think any doctor gets it right all the time. I’m up to 42 medical mistakes that I have caught in the 8 years I’ve been living with MBC. We all do our best.

That’s probably the best place to start and then a genetic counselor will be your guide if there are results you need to address.

I don’t trust any medical provider absolutely and regularly get second opinions to obtain different pieces of the puzzle so I can make the best decision. Oncology isn’t black and white and there are many gray areas. No one has all the answers.

Have you had genetic testing to see if there is a genetic mutation in your family?
