I once wrote smut, but haven't for a while.
I'm fond of old cars, walks in the woods and sunsets. Totally smitten and ridiculously happy .
Today is a sit and read day.
I'm full of cold, so I'm ignoring all the things I want to do that involve moving around, and enjoying a good book.

Well, my weekend plans fell to pieces when I caught a streaming cold yesterday. My nose can't decide if it's a solid lump or a running tap.
🙄

I've walked to the local takeaway as it's only -2C here. I'll be heading home to the fireplace and a pint of cider.
It's been quite a week and I'm having a quiet night in to recharge.

I have just discovered they are making a film of "The faraway tree" 😀
That was something that I read to and with my youngest daughter as she was growing up. Several times.
I only hope they do it justice.

I must admit, I've had breakfast in worse places...
I stayed in an actual castle yesterday. Very fancy indeed.

It's been a bit of a mad week for me so far, including a 4am start on Tuesday that I didn't get home from until 11 last night - via 34 hours in Europe.
My plan for tonight is a quiet one in front of the fire, with a small whisky or two...

There are fireworks going off everywhere around me this evening in a seemingly continuous display.
It's even louder than than the military exercises we often have 😁

I managed to finish a job in the garden today that seems to have taken forever. I now have a large flat-ish area of mud that used to be a huge mound of soil, stones and roots. Hopefully it will be a lawn next summer.

Missing last week's Mediterranean blue skies. The grey is becoming monotonous
October 16, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Saturdays sunset.
Holiday sunsets hit better somehow.
Oh well, hopefully the grey sky here will clear sometime.

Back home after a week relaxing in the greek sunshine.
I feel totally refreshed and ready to take on the world again. It's quite a change, arid Mediterranean rocks and blue sky, to our grey sky and gorgeous autumn shades. I enjoy both, but home is always great to return to.

Off to support the #RedRoses at Twickenham today.
It's going to be a fantastic game, and I'll be cheering them all the way to the trophy!

I took a very small diversion on the way to work today. It was totally worth getting up an hour early for.
Welcome to autumn!

Congratulations to the red roses! What a game 😀
That result makes the fact I have tickets for Twickenham next week all the sweeter.

The moon was nice and clear here for tonight's lunar eclipse.

Hopefully I'm in for a quiet evening, unlike this time last week I had to abandon my cooking, dash off to administer first aid and wait for an ambulance to arrive for a parent. Thankfully that all worked out in the end.
Ageing sucks.

I'm not sure I've seen clouds quite this colour before. Taken right before a monumental downpour.

Does this make sense to anyone? How can an event be replaced by, and also running alongside another one?
I think the Silverstone events team are still reeling from last weekend!

Right then, rugby time!
Come on Roses, you have got this. The match and the cup, I have faith in you.

I do love visiting the west coast of Wales. It's a lovely place to be and a great place to wake up. But it's going to be a long haul home later.

Spending a few days on the extreme west coast of our sceptred isle. After the extreme traffic trials to get here, I treated myself to a delicious Italian meal. Absolutely the right choice, I shall go to sleep happy tonight.

Warm rain .
That feels so good on my skin
August 11, 2025 at 6:27 PM
Popped out to watch the moon rise over #Stonehenge last night. I'm always amazed at just how fast it moves from the horizon. It's always fun trying to find the best vantage point to catch it too.

Brands hatch really is a fabulous circuit to watch racing at. I've had a lovely day watching old cars go round in circles.
I'm a little rosy round the edges though because the rain I expected was a no show, and the sun arrived instead. Still, it was a superb day out.

I've decided to listen to an old classic again. It's been years since I listened to "My dad wrote a porno" but it's as hysterically bad as I remember.
🤣
