The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

People need to call the governor’s office and let her know that she just issue the damned order instead of dilly-dallying.

If your goal is to describe the set of all individuals who are pregnant, then "pregnant people" is the correct phrase. Because some people who are pregnant are not women. This is just the correct way to describe the set.

I’ve long been of the opinion that, as a practical matter, an open border policy would be best from a practicality pov. Increasingly, I am thinking it is actually the only moral immigration policy.
Yeah, the scary part about immigration law relating to criminal convictions is that in most cases it literally does not matter how long ago the convictions occurred. Congress can even pass a law AFTER your conviction that renders you deportable for that past conduct.
The marijuana possession was adjudicate 18 years ago.
