A primary driver of high costs in NY is the cost of housing. A multi-pronged approach to bringing these costs down must include electrification, & our All-Electric Buildings Act. Read my op-ed with Assemblymember Anna Kelles in today's @timesunion.com: www.timesunion.com/opinion/arti...
Commentary: Electrification will save money and energy — and spur housing development
There's no reason for New York to press pause on the All-Electric Buildings Act.

Families are bracing for double-digit energy bill hikes this winter, but NY is cutting the program that helps. Yesterday, @amdanalevenberg.bsky.social & advocates pushed to stop a 66% cut to EmPower+, which gives up to $10K per household for energy-saving upgrades.

NYSERDA to reduce spending, advocates say it will hurt clean energy goals and low-income families
Advocates across the state are unhappy with proposed cuts to the state’s EmPower+ program, which supports energy costs for low-and-moderate income households.

Every year on September 11, we pause to remember the lives of those who were lost, the bravery of those who responded, and the resilience of our communities in the months and years that followed that fateful day in 2001.

I am horrified to learn that Charlie Kirk has been shot. We must all condemn such violence whenever it happens, no matter who the perpetrators or the victims may be, or what they believe.

For the sake of our planet and our pocketbooks, New York should be leading the way on renewable energy instead of following Trump's instructions. Wise words from @lizkrueger.bsky.social:
Last week I spoke w/@thebrianlehrershow.bsky.social about why it would be a mistake for @governor.ny.gov to approve new pipelines - expensive, dirty, and unnecessary. We need to be standing up to Trump's agenda, not aiding and abetting the selling out of our future. www.wnyc.org/story/two-ne...

I joined local colleagues & advocates for the kickoff of Fair Share America's Stop the Billionaire Giveaway Bus Tour in Croton on Saturday. This tour is highlighting the big ugly bill that aims to take healthcare and food from the neediest Americans to give massive tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.

As of today, five of my prime-sponsored bills have passed the Senate, with more expected to follow soon. These bills will protect essential workers, affirm the responsibilities of utilities to property owners, support the health of volunteer firefighters, and promote local economic development.

Grateful to @newyorkstateag.bsky.social & the coalition of state AGs who fought the President's illegal trade war. New Yorkers can thank these stalwart defenders of the rule of law for protecting our pocketbooks and our rights.
A court just ruled in our favor and permanently stopped the Trump administration’s illegal tariffs.

This is a major victory for working families, businesses, and the rule of law.

The president cannot ignore the Constitution and impose massive tax hikes on the American people.
I'm suing the Trump administration with a multistate coalition of AGs for imposing worldwide illegal tariffs.

These tariffs are unlawful and if not stopped, they will raise taxes on Americans and lead to more inflation, unemployment, and economic damage.

Flowers are a nice gift, but equal pay is what moms really need. In our state, moms working full-time only earn 79 cents for every $1 that dads earn, on average. (1/2)

Pope Francis gave hope to so many through his solidarity with the poor and marginalized people everywhere. He was truly in touch with the world & its changes because of his commitment to social justice, rooted in longstanding teachings of the Catholic Church. I join so many in mourning his passing.
