One day “don’t buy” days are unorganised, ineffective, classist & ableist. The reasons strikes work is bc they are highly organised, targeted, & last until demands are met. A thread 🧵🪡

Be kind to those grieving due to the TikTok ban. Millions of people w/ disabilities lost their communities & social access. Millions lost their income. Hundreds of millions lost their access to free speech & connectivity to news, activism, & organising. Your grief is valid. 🩷✨

TikTok had a massive community of #ActuallyAustistic people, likely the largest autistic community in the world ever. It included all ages and speakers and non-speakers.

It also had a large chronically ill community.

The potential loss of community for many otherwise isolated folks is significant.

I don’t really know what to talk about here… should I pick a lane?
