There's been some fascinating examples of diversification on Countryfile this year but nothing like this. Local agri is mostly moor grazing sheep and lowland cattle but the shade benefits of solar have been shown to improve grass quality as fodder - but no-one's tried it yet around here.

I always take 4 cuttings in late Autumn and root them in separate pots in a 50/50 perlite/compost mix. Water then pop in a sealed bag on a sunless windowsill and check them in December. You can do this for F1 and heritage varieties for reliable clones.

Do you know what variety they are? If they're an F1 hybrid any seeds are highly unlikely to breed true.

Ross Douthat -You would prefer the human race to endure, right?
Peter Thiel - Uh.
RD -You’re hesitating.

RD -Yes?
PT -I don’t know. I would...
RD -This is a long hesitation.

Good to know the billionaires definitely have our best interests at heart! What an incoherent mess.

"I have allowed myself to lead this little life, when inside me there was so much more. And it's all gone unused. And now it never will be. Why do we get all this life if we don't ever use it? Why do we get all these feelings and dreams and hopes if we don't ever use them?" 🥹

Can you point me to the fuel cell lit you've been reading?

From what I was reading, the toxicity and auto ignition problems have been drastically reduced with Na batteries, improving the number of charge cycles by a factor of 10 and a ridiculously short charge time. Slight reduction in energy density compared to Li+.

Yeah, just this week been catching up with the advancements in sodium ion tech. Real game changing stuff.

When I glance at the Kate Morley's NatGrid dashboard you can get a sense of how tantalisingly close we are to that future.
