Update, I have peeled, cored, and sliced approximately 800 apples so there will be apple pie tomorrow after all. Crisis averted.

And yes, all of these apples are for one pie because I am pre-cooking them, which makes the pie better AND means there’s room for more apples in the pie. Win win.

Yes, it would be right at home next to a butter churn, which we thankfully don’t have to use anymore to get butter!

7 year old is OBSESSED with cranberry sauce. He helps make it with me every year and he said that when he’s a grownup he’ll make it at his house and bring it to Thanksgiving at our house. And I was like, that’s cute that you think you’ll ever move out in this economy.

I just think it’s important to have a wide variety of options, because if I’ve learned anything from the pie discourse today it’s that a lot of people hate a lot of pies.

Snapping some ginger to make cookies for the cranberry pie crust and, hopefully, pumpkin ice cream. It’s all happening.

Precooking them gets a lot of water out, and you do it with the sugar, spices, and flour and get a really good, concentrated gooey sauce.
