Another in what may become a series of #portraits of imaginary people. #Acrylicpaint on paper. #ArtSky #Artist #ArtPractice #visualart #painting

So far, my favorite approach to #portraiture is to imagine a face, use a reference pic for lighting cues, and more or less sculpt that face using layers of #paint. I'm still struggling w/ proportions, and I find line work less forgiving. Also, shading is my favorite. #ArtSky #ArtPractice

#ArtSky More #portrait practice. This time, I used acrylic #paint rather than acrylic marker. I'm relatively pleased with how this turned out. #artist #traditionalmedium #visuallyimpairedartist

#ArtSky Scribbly #portrait practice from a reference photo. #Acrylic #marker and #illustration pen. I used a plaid background I'd previously created in my #sketchbook. I think this piece may be audible from space. #artist #artpractice #drawing #art #scribble

#Sketching practice w/ acrylic #paint. I'd like to get better at using shadows to define my figures.

Why not put acrylic ink in an old and kinda-leaky water pen? I'm not 100% satisfied w/ how this came out, but I had fun makimg it. #art #artsky #artist #originalart #acrylicink #ink #jellyfish #blue #drawing #mixedmedia

You can always do something w/ leftover #ink. I make a mess when makimg #acrylic ink grounds. Sometimes, I press #sketchbook pages into the ink puddles on my tarp et voilá! Bonus ground! My #sketchnook is a #colorful mess. #artsky #artpractice #artexperiment

#Art experiment! It's a #jellyfish, but also a liiiiitle bit a #cat. I thought this cute lil' nightmare would look cool over these blotches of acrylic ink, (I like to use sketchbook pages and scrap paper to grab some of the ink that drips when I'm making grounds.)

This little weirdo looks super festive. Part Mari Lwyd, part random forest spirit, they just really want to wish you a very LET ME IN. This type of creature, all skeletal and antlery, is one of my favorite things to doodle. (Um, I'm also a weirdo. But in a fun way, not a creepy way.)

I think this is my favorite.of this morning's #art experiments. Acrylic ink and screen-printing ink on watercolor paper. #artist #fairy #linocut #originalart

#ArtExperiment I love making colorful grounds with #acrylicink then adding linework. Instead of freehanding with gel pen or acrylic marker, I used #screenprinting ink and some of my hand-carved #stamps.

This is the Right Hon. Sir Felix Hantweth III, one of my original characters. He's such a fancy gentleman, I felt he deserved a linocut portrait. #Art #OriginalArt #linocut #stampcarving #artist

And here's a little acrylic-marker piece I did based on this morning's gel-pen sketch.

What's one more new medium? A few weeks ago, I decided to try linoleum-block printing. I immediately switched to this soft rubbery material because it's much easier for me to carve, (my hands, like the rest of me, are hypermobile).
