It was an impossible hand but I think he’s still paid it poorly. Well thought of abroad and significant things achieved quietly domestically,however .. some strategic errors have destroyed his standing in and out of the party. He can’t lead the way back to EU with his historically low ratings

I don’t think it can be Starmer he’s burned all his political capital on the don’t antagonise the red wall / no return in my lifetime approach. Fresh leadership is required

I suppose also rejoining SM and CU would still satisfy the Leave /Remain referendum terms so wouldn’t require a further vite

Not sure Trump had much to do with it. But here again a natural dividing line and a chance to define patriotism for a politician brave and talented enough to do it. Let’s start with a proper examination of Russian election interference. Farage is up to his neck in it.

And an environment where cobbling together a vote of around 29% may mean an opportunity of continuing in govt albeit in coalition with the Lib Dem’s who would anyway demand CU and SM as cost of cooperation.

On past experience I would guess he caves under it and walks away to make some money while he can in the US.

His Trumpian reaction (double down accuse the BBC of double standards) isn't helping him. However I fear it won't affect his electoral prospects much - people are so disaffected they will still vote for him. Many will remain unaware.

I'm almost exactly Farage's age and I went to a public school at the same time. I can't remember anyone behaving remotely like this. This was extreme behaviour even for that place and time. It should finish him. I hope it does.
