To an extent, it still does require the pacing to be the same. Or at least designed carefully based upon what is taught when by whom.

Our labs are tremendously inefficient and could achieve far more with some adjustments. But no new material is covered in lab without being part of a lecture class. I feel rushed when I don’t flip my classroom - and may be doing so on a dime for the rest of the semester to get it all done.

Lecture was 50min 4x/week, one designated as recitation. That was changed to 3x70 or 2x 105. We have 110min/week in lab 1 and 165min/week in lab 2. Semester is 14 weeks in fall, may be 15 in spring. It’s 10-11 in summer but classes are longer to make up.

I struggle a lot with this too. I want to be reasonable and considerate but when I delay things for them, they just wait longer.

Yes, always. It’s been their thing for quite a while.

And yet if we tried to point out the blatant hypocrisy of this in our Gen Ed classes at a FL public school, college, or university, we’d be excoriated or fired for being political. Forget that it’s exactly the idiocy we’re supposed to be teaching students to look for and avoid.

And no one looks good in orange.

If they got 800 medical professionals in Alaska, that’s got to be a significant fraction, right?

Cal’s a good kid. I got to watch him play college ball here in Tallahassee. We’re all super excited to see him find so much success.

They’ve been doing the crosswalk at the FDOT nightly, usually someone cleans it by 8am. Next step should be to video and shame the guy who’s cleaning it. A friend suggested chalking in front of Gov’s mansion, but I think all of the roads there are too busy to do safely.

I would have been moderately unsurprised at that occurring with an Amerikan border crossing given the current state here, but not in the EU. Since I don’t leave here, the EU gets a little too idealized in my mind.

They also don’t let us cross link, so if I have three sections of a course, I have to make sure to confirm that any changes occur in all three sections. 😖

But my admin didn’t like that so now we make a homepage… that directs them to go to the modules page. 🤦🏼‍♂️

It’s insane because she’s done things just as heinous as Epstein did and had no credibility before all of this. I’d ask how stupid people would have to be to believe what she says at this point, but we’ve already seen that they’re much stupider.

Not sure how I didn’t re-follow you when moving over from X, but I’m glad I found you. Be safe, man.

We’ve had to deal with his disgusting ass for years here in Florida. Sorry to see the rest of the country find out what we’ve been enduring.

I’d come to visit at least once, but I’m not sure I’d run towards the sounds that we’d inevitably hear across the ravine.

Since the 2016 World Series put us on this hellacious timeline, could a 2025 win be the catalyst to take us back to a sane one?

Sorry! That was sarcastic agreement. And I switched from 9-12 to 2-year-college so I’ve lived that world too.
