SA, yes. But the local Project BundleUp does not seem to subscribe to this. I think because WTAE largely runs the effort.

I think this is where my Pittsburgh accent (a tendency to drop consonants) is a slight benefit. 😆

That likely varies throughout the country, too. I regularly listen to CBC One and they play a lot of archived audio. The over-enunciation from their broadcasters and the general public is jarring.

I feel that like Canadians, you will find variation throughout the country. I know I have a tendency to say it as “mun-TREY-all” in my poor attempts at French.

My mom got me three velour lounge tops/pants sets when I was in college and I still live in them in winter. I don’t even care that the elastic is going in the pants.

OK, now I am self-conscious about how I say Montreal. I have a friend who studied at McGill and he said having a Pittsburgh accent is perfect for sounding like a native French speaker there.
