We have three types in southwestern Pennsylvania. The black-capped and Carolina chickadees are hard to distinguish, but I love when I can find a Boreal chickadee.

I've struggled to explain this to my parents when they ask, "why does your number always come up [as being from] [small PA town]? You don't live there."

I used to run an Isuzu car club. At our largest, we were 880 owner-members. A friend from the club let me take out his turbo Lotus Elan and I am certain my stomach was 4 miles behind the car at all times.

Tomorrow, our unfair labor practice strike against @post-gazette.com marks it's third full year. Three years of fighting the most lawless union-busting campaign can be tiring, but we're never going to quit fighting.

There is an election on November 4 in Pennsylvania. You should vote if you can. Your vote should be an informed one. Elections have real consequences. A friend informed me today that food stamps have stopped going out and lots of people will not be able to afford food in November.

I've told people that my grandparents had 10 and 8 kids, respectively, and I almost always get, "your family is Catholic, aren't they?" remark.
