"Disappointed"! That's a bloody understatement. Trans & NonBinary persons are real people. If we ever get back into government, I've no confidence the party will treat us any differently to the Labour Party. What the hell is the point in "LGBT+ Liberal Democrats". Tomorrow is Trans Remembrance Day!

Thank you. I'm really finding it difficult to keep the faith that the Liberal Democrats want to stand up for the rights of trans persons acros the UK and the world and fight discrimination. The party's such a desperate disappointment!

"Liberal" Democrats sure as hell aren't, and we aren't friendly for trans & nonbinary persons. I'm seriously considering leaving the party. How the hell would you like it if the party abandoned Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual quotas, considering everyone as Heterosexual just because judges said we are!

Yea, I'll drop them a line so they're aware. I'd hate to think it's intentional. I don't think they know I'm trans, and presumably these things happen from time to time, but I didn't get email nor snail-mail. Next time I'll expect Ed Davey to hand deliver personally wearing fancy dress on zipwire. 😊

Yea, I have ADHD and left it to the very last minute, along with pretty much everything else of course, but found I didn't receive a voting email, so wasn't able to vote. My first experience of the internal federal elections went incredibly well overall, don't ya think?! 🤷😊

Please accept my apologies, Alisdair. I'm a relatively new party member and newer LGBT+ member. My language and terminology was clumsy but I'm sure will improve. All I currently know about these issues is based on Plus posts here on Bluesky, and the personal impact as an LGBTQ Trans party member. 🙂🔶

Okay, that's great, but saying it's a policy doesn't carry as much authority as one might like. If policies arrived at via the democratic process are simply ignored (quotas), what can we do to ensure other policies affecting the LGBTQ community aren't simply ignored by factions at head of the party.

Leo's papacy began 6 months ago today, 8 May. It feels a lot longer, and yet somehow like Pope Francis passed just yesterday. He's still a big presence in our hearts.

This will sound hyperbolic but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to see the United States as a liberal democracy.

They were once considered to be leader of the free world, but it feels like there's a cold war brewing, with the US🇺🇸 on the other side, along with Russia🇷🇺, China🇨🇳, and North Korea🇰🇵.

I follow FBPE accounts and rarely get a follow back and I've experienced trolls on here. I can't compare it to TwiX as I have no account, but I joined Bluesky & Mastodon for a more respectful discussion. Maybe they didn't get the engagement they needed on here so just abandoned their ship? 🙂
