As a relatively new member I don't know the party, only who I am & what I want from the party I align myself with. Of course I'm horrified but I'm more horrified by the world beyond the party. I'm a liberal. I'm trans. I must simply be myself & join others in common cause to change our society. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🔶

I was horrified by events this week after joining the party just this Spring, but what I've since read from folk like yourself, @pluslibdems.bsky.social & @pruebray.bsky.social was extremely encouraging. The preamble to our constitution is perfect at encapsulating why we exist, and why I joined. 🔶🙂

In our 21st century society, accumulated wealth is considered the scale by which success is measured. But that's the world's economy, not God's.

The most vulnerable people have little worth in this world, but God thinks differently, so the Church must also think and act differently to the world. ✝️

I deleted my post on Mastodon mentioning Andrew in same sentence as pedophile & saying I'd watch King's Speech only if he stripped Andrew of the "Prince". Never imagined it would actually happen. All due credit to King, but it should have happened a very long time ago!

This must be a wake up call.

We’ve seen an increase in hostility towards trans in recent years.

Everyone deserves dignity, safety, & respect - that includes trans people.

Indeed, this will have significant consequences, economic, political, and cultural. There are those who will celebrate these stats, but I am not one of those people.

I find it difficult to forgive him when he says welfare spending went up £33bn, as he has an issue with the cost of welfare, rather than the cost to human life.

There's a reason why welfare spending increased, but the increased human suffering this represents is of significantly greater importance.

LGBT+ Liberal Democrats condemn our party's decision to base internal gender quotas on sex assigmed at birth.

This trans-exclusionary decision is an attack on one of the most vulnerable groups in our society.

We have tabled a censure motion, calling on Parliament to rebuke Sarah Pochin’s racist remarks and for Reform Leader Nigel Farage to withdraw the whip.

That's hardly news though. In previous interviews she neither ruled it in nor ruled it out. And 'I am not done' isn't exactly 'I intend to run for President again'.

I want Kamala Harris to run again, and win! She's a great representative for the Democratic Party and will make a superb US President.
