As I'm back on my superhero nonsense a bit atm, one extremely nerdy thread: One Costume every single Marvel Rivals character should get except possibly for ones I haven't read any of their appearances.

Some will just be a major missing costumes, some will be fun.

For the people who think they are bothering the artist by commissioning them again and again

YOU ARE NOT!! WE LOVE YOU!! 😳💗
Biggest form of flattery in my mind!

Don't suppose anyone has an idea what this object is we found in the recently expanded paths in our local woods. The protrusion on thr top seem to be some kinda broken weld maybe?

I'm somewhat concerned it looks like a small shell or something?

I find it fascinating that although whales are the largest animals on the planet there's a ton of species we just don't know much about.

There are 24 species of beaked whales and some have only been discovered in the last few decades.

So, the D&D spell Transport via plants requires a "large or larger plant" is normally ingerpretted as trees but I'm trying to work out strategic options that could be kept on our airship.

Prize winning marrow? Giant lilypad? Giant rhubarb? Mass of algae? Kelp?

I don't have carveries often, probably less than once a year, but I think owners don't understand what it means when they say"help yourself to roast potatoes"

I decided to have another go at Mass Effect: Andromeda this morning and man am I out of practice at 00's style cover shooters mindset wise after a year of Marvel Rivals 😅

A D&D character who I'd been playing for a year was recently disintegrated by the Big Bad. She was a reporter who'd ended up with the group to hide from a cult, and been unlocking her fire giant heritage. She stole a mysterious orb from them, but was hit by disintegrate as she tried to disengage...

Was thinking about character who I'd like to play in Marvel Rivals, and then just decided to draw some - starting with Bishop cos a guy who absorbs damage from other attacks to unleash it could be a very fun mechanic.

I'm very much team big long hair when it comes to Bishop designs.

So because my long time home game D&D character is called Urania, and there was that delightfully cringe-inducing scene in @erikaishii.bsky.social's "Hint" series involving a statue of the Muse Urania in @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social, I'm afraid I had to design her a cursed costume...

Did a first play test today of my new TTRPG system, provisionally named "Wizard of Feathers" - a low fantasy rules lite system where you are mages who gain spells and abilities from communing with bird spirits - think D&D Warlocks/cantrips x Pokemon collecting on bleak mountainous steppe!

Don't suppose anyone has experience with getting round Costa Rica, cos on consideration probs a bit ambitious to drive there myself and shuttle quotes are more than the hotels. 😬

Possibly even if someone knows of guides who would do like a "hotel transfer with birding"?
Booked a trip to Costa Rica for the back half of November!

Never been to Central America before so my plan is functionally "expand my Life List + Bird-dex list a ton" with November in the 3 places I'm gonna stay.

I was today years old when I found out that the line in "This is America" which I've always heard of as an inexplicable "Underpants, underpants, underpants, underpants" was infact "hunnid bands, hunnid bands, hunnid bands, hunnid bands"

I guess that *does* make more thematic sense 😅😅

At this point, new additions to my bird list I've seen in the UK have all been vagrants this year, as today I made possibly the smallest detour I've ever done (a small lake next to the A1 on the way back from London) to finally add Ferruginous Duck: also delightfully known as the "Fudge Duck"

Yet again, Little Auk and Pomarine Skua vex me *shakes fist at the wind* as did the Red-flanked Bluetail

I did however in trade get a few species I don't get to see much of including Firecrest (2nd ever sighting!), Little Gull (maybe 3rd ever sighting!) and Purple Sandpiper!

Okay so, this is a skill I've never mastered living in a land locked county. With strong winds heading from the west tomorrow, does anyone know where in Kent would be good for seawatching?

I wanna finally get me a Pomarine Skua 🤣 I'll also accept Little Auk, Storm Petrels or rarer Shearwaters.😅

Just a brief interlude cos its rare I come across a taxon of mammals that I just categorically haven't heard of before: meet the zokors - six species of rodent with mole like parralel evolutionary features which live in Central Asia and have minimal info on wikipedia for!

Episode 503 of @xplainthexmen.bsky.social is where they have finally caught up to the first X-men comic I ever read, which was a handmedown from a friend of my brothers when I was like 15?

Lile honestly, from someone whose previous exposure was the 90's cartoon, actually an okay starting point?

I decided to write a short lore doc as a creative exercise, and I've come to realise that the most recent version to arise was absolutely created by tech bros trying to stay young...
More in this case, I was thinking about Vampires and how it'd be interesting to have a world where theres a whole bunch of unrelated beings referred to as "vampires" but aside from all being immortal blood drinkers they all have different origins, powers, behaviour and weaknesses.

Had a night away in Norfolk for some nature time, did see one new bird species and a bunch I rarely get to see, but actually my favourite photo of the trip was of a very common bird: the carrion crow.

So the thing is about a Cybertruck is like, if it had been produced by any other company it would merely just be huge embarassing midlife crisis energy / that terrible car Homer designed in that Simpsons episode.

But it's a Tesla product so the actual problem is it DIRECTLY FUNDS FASCISM.

Errr, google, while I would like to see a Pygmy Cormorant, chanting it's name at me isn't a substitute for a diversity of species....

Been watchibg Helluva Boss, and much as I've been enjoying it, making the most obnoxious cast member the ostensiable protagonist?

Also, somehow they've made a show which feels like its core energy is "early 2000s internet", which is fascinating?
